There are more and more shops specialised in production and sale of Cold-Pressed juices, supermarkets that offer them in their aisles, or manufacturers that offer full programmes by home delivery. These fruit and vegetables juices provide us with that extra amount of the fruits and vegetables required every day, and on containing a large amount of vegetables, the total sugar content is low than traditional juices. Cold-pressed juices, a trendsetter for fruit and vegetable intake
Fruits and vegetables are essential if we want to have a balanced diet. But moreover, according to a report of the WHO and the FAO, if enough of them were consumed, 1.7 million human lives could be saved, as their low consumption causes 19% of gastrointestinal cancers, 31% of the ischaemic heart disease and 11% of brain haemorrhages. This report indicates that the minimum daily amount of fruits and vegetables is 400 grams. For many people it is a real challenge to reach this figure as they are foods they do not like, or because they lack the time to prepare them.
What are Cold Press juices?
Cold Press can be translated as applying cold pressure, it involves a system for extracting the juices from fruits and vegetables, which reduces oxidation to the minimum and preserves all their nutrients.
Firstly, the Cold Press machines have a stage for shredding the fruits and vegetables, and then pressing and filtering the pulp obtained in a slow manner and submitted to high pressure, in order to extract every last drop. Thanks to The Cold Press technology, every juice preserves all the flavour and also the properties of this raw material .
5 Cold Press fruit and vegetables juices
In this section, we shall see Cold Press recipes that are not only most nutritious but are also delicious. In them, we will show you the amounts and proportions to make a single serving of juice, although with machines such as Mastery, we shall use these proportions duly scoped for manufacturing the required number of litres of each recipe.
1. Cold-Pressed energizing juice
Ingredients:
- 1 pear
- 1 apple
- ½ kiwi
- Juice of 1 lime
- 100 grams of spinach
- 100 millilitres of green tea
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Preparation:
Put the fruits and vegetables in the Cold Press machine. Once the juice is ready add the green tea and the honey.
2. Refreshing Cold-Pressed juice
Ingredients:
- 100 grams of watermelon
- 100 grams of pineapple
- Juice of 2 oranges
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Preparation:
Put all the ingredients in the Cold Press juicer. For the orange take care to remove the peel before shredding or use a specific solution for citrus fruits, otherwise you will be adding the essential oils in the peel (conferring a bitter flavour to the juice). For the watermelon, also remove the skin. Once the juice is prepared, add the honey.
3. Red anti-oxidant juice
Ingredients:
- 50 grams of red grapes
- 1 pomegranate
- 100 grams of watermelon
- 50 grams of red fruits
- ½ red apple
Preparation:
Just put all the ingredients in the Cold Press, put the machine into operation and the juice is ready. Remember to degrain the pomegranate to avoid the bitter tastes of the skin.
We can obtain the pomegranate juice with Mastery by following these steps.
- Cut the pomegranates in half.
- Close the Mastery press with a gap equivalent to the height of half of the pomegranate obtained.
- Fit the filtering bag and enter the halves in parallel into the press.
- Once the bag is filled, do a pressing as slowly as possible, in order to obtain best quality juice.
- Do not do a second pressing, as this will bring over excessive bitter flavours contained in the skin.

4. Cold Press purifying juice (with banana)
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 apple
- 3 carrots
- 50 grams of spinach
Preparation:
Enter the ingredients in the Cold Press except for the banana, which we will use in a blender to obtain a fine puree. For certain fruits with little or almost no juice content such as banana, it is required to transform them into puree to be able to add them to the final recipe.

5. Cold Press purifying juice (with grapefruit)
Ingredients:
- 1 grapefruit
- 3 slices of pineapple
- 100 grams of strawberry
- 50 grams of celery
- 2 pomegranates
- 3 basil leaves
Preparation:
Put all the ingredients in the machine (don´t forget to peel the grapefruit before) To work easier and more efficiently you may use a citrus fruit industrial juicer. Add the basil leaves during the shredding if you want its flavour to be included in the recipe (the same with mint leaves, peppermint leaves…etc).
